Balmain Will Hold a Resort Show in the Center of Paris on a Barge
On July 5, Balmain will hold a cruise show in the center of Paris on the Seine. The event will take place on an open barge, so anyone can watch the show from the banks of the river. This year the fashion house celebrates its 75th anniversary, in honor of which the creative director of the brand Olivier Rousteing will show a large collection of Balmain archive looks created both by the founder of the house, Pierre Balmain, and the previous creative directors of the brand - Erik Mortensen and Oscar de la Renta. Andrew Makadsi, who has worked with Beyonce for a long time, will be responsible for the set design. At the end of the show, Rousteing will showcase items from the new resort collection. “I think that each of us will forever remember the past spring as dark, marked by strange new fears and mandatory isolation. Even for those who were fortunate enough to deal only with the frustrations and tiredness of Zoom, a recent conclusion very clearly showed how much we took for granted up to this point. Forced isolation showed us how dependent we are on being together, ” Rousteing said.
