FASHIONTECH BERLIN: the 11th Edition

Updated: Feb 1, 2020

"The 11th edition of FASHIONTECH Berlin was a massive success. We had very positive feedback on the mix of speakers and topics," says Michael Stracke, Chief Business Development Manager. "Digitalisation and Retail Experience continue to be pivotal themes affecting the industry's stakeholders. Inspiring Best Cases by top international speakers from brands like Tommy Hilfiger, Ganni, Farfetch, Mansur Gavriel, Highsnobiety, etc. on the main stage and in the masterclasses drew in a wide audience and delivered inspiration for lots of business conversations and contacts. Visitors used the opportunity to find out more about the latest technologies and products relevant to the industry in the Exhibition Area.

The move close to PREMIUM was absolutely right. We're over the moon that Telekom Fusion Fashion, Stefanie Giesinger, Marcus Butler and Mike Mikkelborg used the opportunity to launch new, super-innovative products on our stage. This shows how important our business platform has become for the fashion industry."

Andrea Baldo, GANNI “Gen Z kids want to connect and engage, they want to know the truth, not marketing speak. My advice: Listen to your younger team members!”

Marie-Theres Mangelsdorf, Tommy Hilfiger ”Everything needs to be based on data – we only implement what consumers want.”

David Fischer, Highsnobiety ”In fact, we constantly try to beat ourselves.”

Anita Tillmann, PREMIUM GROUP “The basic property of entrepreneurs is DOING things.”

Antje Hundhausen, Telekom “Technology and fashion need to embrace to enrich people’s lives. Our goal is to offer the most beautiful technology.”

Ahmed Mercan, Alphatauri “We want to stop talking about ideas, we want to execute.”

Philipp Westermeyer, OMR  “The tricky part is to maintain the playfulness when you are successful.”

Ana Andjelic, Mansur Gavriel “Too many immersive experiences focus on store experience, not the customer experience.”

Stefanie Giesinger

“We can inspire other brands to move faster to sustainability.”

Kristin Savilia, JOOR

“There is no place for boring retail.”

Matthias Nebus, MyBudapester.com

“We collaborate to further our reach!”

Markus Reckling, DHL Express Germany

“A collaboration can create emotions if the narrative suits your target group.”

Marcus Butler

“An affordable sustainable option was missing, we want to provide it.”

Steve Lidbury, Eight Inc. “An idea is not an innovation, innovation is when it is adopted by a large market.”

Mike Mikkelborg, Pilot Digital “Give customers what they want and get it to them faster than anyone else.”

Decades of expertise, in-depth knowledge and a host of skills have turned FASHIONTECH Berlin into a content hub for technology, digitalisation, sustainability, innovation and communication. Since its founding in January 2015, international top speakers from the sector's leading companies and innovative start-ups have taken to the stage to share their expertise. Including: Google, Zalando, JD, Facebook, Instagram, Allbirds, Aeyde, Moschino, MCM, GANT, Adidas, Matchesfashion, MyTheresa, BonPrix, Mykita and Highsnobiety.

“FASHIONTECH Berlin is the platform where the masterminds from fashion and technology come together to share experiences, knowledge and ideas with each other,” says Anita Tillmann, Founder and Managing Partner, PREMIUM GROUP. “This is where new business contacts are made and strong networks established, with the aim of successfully overcoming the current challenges facing our industry.”
